I lost my civilized name and became KrispyKritter every time I paddled or hiked (earth-touch as I call it) into the wilderness. I found a second life after retirement in 2004 as a long distance hiker on a six month trek on the Appalachian Trail. Since that first journey, my boots have logged over 6,000 miles of world class trails in both the United States and Europe. I have learned, like the Native Americans before me, to respect and appreciate Mother Nature. We, as a human race, cannot survive without her.
This website has been developed to share these long distance hikes in words and pictures. I also realized I could describe events leading up to other backpacking trips, help other long distance hikers and backpackers in their journeys and to promote events, people and places within the hiking community. Enjoy your journey through these pages, and remember to softly earth-touch in your communion with Mother Earth.
